victorian 9ct gold bloodstone and sardonyx double sided locket

A beautifully unusual Victorian locket set with two contrasting hardstones, a near black bloodstone with deep red flecking to the front and cool pale lavender sardonyx to the reverse. The moulded smooth edge of the case is a pleasure in the hand, the depth and chunkiness of this locket giving it a solidity that photographs cannot fully capture. A substantial piece at 8.45mm deep that sits and wears with real authority.
The interior is empty and ready for photographs or a small memento.
Fitted with a jump ring.
