Vintage oversized Rolled Gold Chain — Kollmar & Jourdan

A substantial vintage oval chain by Kollmar & Jourdan, one of Germany's most respected jewellery manufacturers, operating from 1885 until 1978.
At 35.2g and 17 inches, with oversized 8.41mm oval links and a bold bolt ring clasp, this is a chain with serious profile — the kind that layers easily but commands attention worn alone.
Rolled gold is a entirely different proposition to modern gold plating — a thick layer of solid gold mechanically bonded to a base metal core, typically containing 100 times more gold than electroplated pieces. The warmth and weight here reflect that. This is a chain built to last, and it certainly has. If you want to complete the look, it matches really well with the heavy antique T bar, as shown, available separately.
